CONTRIBUTION
Making a young system ready for real customer journeys.
As a Senior Designer working through Accenture, I contributed to Vodafone’s global move from Sketch to Figma by helping build a unified design system for the Shop journeys across the Vodafone Group. The work supported a single source of truth for designers and developers across multiple countries, teams, and local markets.
Leadership & Alignment
Helped align Vodafone, Accenture, and contractor designers around a shared design system approach, balancing global consistency with the needs of different teams and markets. Ran workshops to define component requirements, functions, and use cases, making sure design decisions were grounded in real journey needs rather than isolated screen-level requests. Supported a long-running cross-functional effort that involved designers, product owners, business analysts, scrum masters, UXers, and developers working toward the same delivery goals.
DesignOps & Technical Impact
Built and rebuilt components for the new Figma-based UI kit, transferring the existing Sketch system into a more scalable structure for Vodafone’s ecommerce journeys. Used Figma features such as auto-layout and grid spacers to create flexible, reusable components that worked across breakpoints, devices, and use cases. Identified a critical component structuring issue that was causing severe performance problems in Figma, then helped simplify and redesign the affected compositions to resolve the memory crashes.
Team Support & Soft Skills
Shared Figma knowledge and trained colleagues who were less experienced or less comfortable with the tool, helping the wider team adapt faster to the new workflow. Mentored peers through a complex migration period, creating more confidence, consistency, and shared understanding across the design team. Helped keep momentum on a large, high-pressure project by combining structured collaboration with pragmatic problem-solving and clear communication.
Measurable Outcome
Delivered 24 flexible, reusable components and signed off 35 user stories, supporting more unified and accessible design system across Vodafone’s digital portfolio. Contributed to a consistent design foundation that improved the digital experience across platforms while accommodating different cultures and accessibility requirements.
